Final Score: Maryland-Eastern Shore 64, Coppin State 58

Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Hillary Haley had 25 points and six rebounds as Maryland-Eastern Shore downed Coppin State, 64-58, in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.

Kevin White had 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while Lyvann Obame Obame chipped in with six points and five rebounds for Maryland-Eastern Shore (11-20), which will play South Carolina State on Thursday.

Kareem Brown had 16 points and Ceslovas Kucinskas added 11 points for Coppin State (8-22), which got 10 points from Vince Goldsberry.

Maryland-Eastern Shore led by three points at the break and outscored Coppin State by the same margin the second half to roll to the win.

Final Score: Morgan State 84, North Carolina A&T 57

Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Kevin Thompson scored 20 points and ripped down 16 rebounds as the top-seeded Morgan State Bears defeated the ninth-seeded North Carolina A&T Aggies, 84-57, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal matchup at the LJVM Coliseum.

Reggie Holmes and Troy Smith both contributed 17 points in the win for Morgan State (25-9), who will advance to battle the winner of the Hampton/Norfolk State game in the semifinals on Friday evening.

Nic Simpson led the way in the loss for North Carolina A&T (11-22), netting 17 points, while Tavarus Alston added 11.

The Bears took a comfortable 46-22 advantage into the intermission after holding NC A&T to just 25.0 percent shooting from the floor in the first stanza.

Morgan State connected on 55.2 percent of its field goals in the second half, helping the Bears cruise to the semifinals.

Morgan State commanded the boards, outrebounding the Aggies 43-26 on the night.
